The “Super 2’s” will run out this week against Tonbrige Judds. Every time these two meet it is an explosive and physical game. Everyone will be hoping for a similar affair this time round. In a positive for the club on a week with no 1st team fixture there are no players featured that haven’t already played 2’s this season except for Doug Wilson.

The front row is once again made up of the secret Adonis Stu Coleman, Ben Randall at hook and Ross Coleman. With such a commanding front row the engine room was going to need a lot of power to back it up, this comes in the form of Tom Hammerton and the unforgettable Harry Ballantyne. It is unclear how Povey is taking Toms serial cheating but reports are that he will return for the Gravesend game in 2 weeks ready to take out his rage. The 2’s are spoilt for choice this week when it comes to the flanks and the winning duo are Andy Hinde and Ash Bourne, both are big hitters in the tackles and disruptive at the breakdown. Not to mention the strong running that Ash displayed in his last outing that was a real game changer. Darrell Conlan will take up his usual spot at 8 and will be commanding the pack all day.

2nd team prodigal son Doug Wilson returns from a run of games with the 1st team to make his first appearance of the season and will be providing service to Captain Russell Allen who is in his 4th starting position of the season and yet to find the one he can do… Don’t worry though, there is a high chance that John Poulson will be available and fill the role himself.
The centres will consist of Mr T who seemingly tackled solely with his forehead last time out and Brad Milbank… who is ginger. The wingers are Joe Wortham after a string of good performances in the opening games and showing great promise and Jordan Lynch. Jordan missed out on a starting flanker position but gives a good option for some changes mid game to mix everything up. Jamie Edwards is named at full back and WILL be running out and well rested after spending a week on holiday.

The bench is full of finishers and promise. Matt “Plank” Vickery will be looking to come on and keep the front row fresh in an undoubtably physical game. Dean Edmonds has agreed to play which must mean he is now single again, welcome back Dean! Will McArthur is still a 50/50 and is waiting to see how his injury recovery is coming on, final decision to be made Saturday morning, also a possibility is Steve Hurdle. Hurdz missed all of last season after battling through injury he was then sidelined by his wedding day. Sam Snell decided he was available at the last minute and so gets a mention but it is unclear if he will play or not at this stage.

The game promises to be tough and physical which should make for some great watching. Kick off is at 3 and it’s forecast to be hot and sunny, no reason not to get down to the club for a few drinks and a game of rugby. As usual everyone will be in the club house after the game for the 3rd half.

See you there!
