Old Gs return to Kent 1 action this week as they host Southwark Lancers. The fixture earlier in the season was a tough affair, with Old Gs behind for the majority of the game, until a Chris Bassett score saw them take the win in the final ten minutes. With Southwark sitting only one place behind Old Gs in table, the home side know that nothing but an impressive performance is required in order to continue the winning run and keep the pressure on the top 2 in the Kent 1.
Old Gs are hamstrung somewhat with injury and unavailability, with Paul Mitchell, Lewis Moss, Andrew Kidd, Ed Wright, Ross Coleman, Jack Nash, Noel Hartley, Matt Holdstock and Mark Fenton-Smith all not able to be considered for selection.
However a strong squad still takes to the field, with Ash Bourne, Matt Johnson and Brett Buckingham in the front row. Frazer Barnes and Joe Martin form the engine room in the second row. Sam Baker, Chris Daniels and Andy Morris complete the forwards.
Grant Roe and Ben Wadsworth are the half backs, with Mike Hodge and Matt Thompson in midfield. James Hood and Mat Wilson are reunited on the wings, with the elusive Chris Johnson at full back.
Replacements are Ryan Lockyer, Martyn Langley and a further player tbc.
Kick off is a 2pm, with all support welcome. A club social is planned for post match, so feel free to stick around afterwards and enjoy the festivities.
