Old Gs are back in action this Saturday with a home fixture vs old rivals Gillingham Anchorians. The old boys will be looking to right a few wrongs following a heavy defeat against Vigo two weeks ago. In the return fixture at Gillingham Old Gs came up two points short in a tight defeat, where on another day a win could have been secured. A similar performance against a tough Gillingham outfit will give the Old Boys every chance of picking up the win to consolidate their place in the Kent 1 table.
Following the game at Vigo, even more injuries have been picked up. Ben Wadsworth misses out with a chipped bone in his wrist and Chris Bassett is out for the rest of the season with a broken hand. Greg Humphreys also picked up a hamstring injury and misses out this week. Adding in the unavailability of Phil Costley and Mat Wilson, Old Gs have a fresh look about them this week.
Brett Buckingham, Noel Hartley and Lewis Moss start up front. After a lovely valentines day together with candles, bubbles and chocolates, Joe Martin and Frazer Barnes are once again in the second row. Andy Morris, jilted, jealous, and without a Valentines Card, sitting at home eating ice cream out of the tub and watching Bridget Jones as his former second row colleague fraternises with a younger man, packs down at 6. Ollie Goodchild and Jack Nash complete the back row.
Doug Wilson is back at 9, with Matt Holdstock at 10. Mark Fenton-Smith and Mike Hodge will look to roll back the years in the centres. James Hood is back on the wing, where he creates a pacy back 3 with Ryan Lockyer and Chris Johnson.
Paul Mitchell, Kevin Spain and Steve Thompson will look to make an impact from the bench.
