Old Gs return to home action on Saturday as they welcome Ashford to North Kent. The two sides have not come against each other for a number of years, with Ashford having broken into the London leagues in previous seasons. Whilst they are now back in Kent 1, they still retain quality within their side and Old Gs are aware that they will face a tough battle as they look to get their season back on track.
Once again the Old Gs injury curse strikes, with Andy Morris and Mat Wilson the latest to be hit by this. This takes the number of injured and unavailable 1st team squad members to 13. Yet it is testament to the work of Andy Miller that Old Gs still put out a competitive side.
Brett Buckingham, Kevin Spain and Lewis Moss start up front, with Joe Martin partnering skipper Frazer Barnes in the engine room. Andy Kidd, Phil Costley and Mat Coomber are the back row.
Doug Wilson and Matt Holdstock retain the half back shirts, with Mark Fenton-Smith and Mike Hodge - one of Old Gs most famous centre combinations, in midfield. Chris Johnson moves to the wing where he joins Dave Boyer, with Greg Humphreys starting at 15.
The bench consists of Paul Mitchell, Jack Nash and Richard Parish.
Kick off is at 2:30pm and all support is welcome!
