Old Gravesendians 45 Sidcup 3s 10
A great win for Old Gs in their first home game of the season. A 7 try victory was thoroughly deserved, with Old Gs controlling the majority of the game.
Chris Daniels opened the scoring as the pack powered over from a scrum. It wasn’t long until Danny Snaith powered through on a great line to extend the lead to 14-0.
A well executed move out wide from Sidcup saw them reduce the deficit to 14-5 at half time.
But Old Gs came out firing in the second half, with Tom Taylor finishing well after another Snaith break. Phil Costley added the bonus point try as he coasted through after backs and forwards combined in multiple phases 28-5.
Despite Sidcup hitting back with their second try of the afternoon when they went over from close range the final quarter all belonged to Old Gs. Replacement Noel Hartley barged over out wide to extend the lead to 33-10. Shortly after, Chris Johnson threw a dummy and finished well from 50 yards. 40-10.
And to complete the afternoon Old Gs moved the ball through the backline and Rob Hodge dotted down out wide for his first senior try.
