It's Cup final rugby on Sunday as Old Gs Vets take centre stage in the Tier 1 Spitfire Gold Plate Final. They travel to Maidstone RFC to face Sevenoaks, with kick off at 3:30pm.

The vets have once again had a hugely successful season having played NAG, Maidstone and Aylesford and in the group stage, and producing a dominant performance in the plate semi final, having been given a tough draw away at a strong Canterbury side. They continue to mix it with the big boys of the county scene in the final as they meet a strong Sevenoaks team, with the club once again looking to punch above it's weight.

They go into the game with confidence and smiles on their faces, with the vets enjoying their rugby and having a spring in their step throughout the campaign. They know the tough test that awaits them, but full of belief that if they produce what they are capable of, and continue to roll back the years, that there is every chance of securing further silverware (following the success in the Bowl Final last year).

Captain Dave Boyer said, 'It's great we've made a final again having stepped up a tier of competition since last year. We know Sevenoaks will be a tough test, but if we continue to play like we have over the course of the year we have a great chance. The main thing is that since we developed a Vets team we've managed to get a number of old faces back involved as part of the Old Gs family. But obviously we'd love to bring back the silverware again'.

The squad that will take to the field (tape holding bodies together - and combined age of 2397) will be:

1 Mike Murray (Elvis)
2 JJ Keevey
3 Phil Boyer
4 Tom Hammerton
5 Andy Day
6 Alex Cave
7 Steve Reece
8 Martin Povey

9 Andy Hinde

12 Steve Thompson
13 Mike Hodge

19 Nick Bratton
20 Brett Buckingham
