New coach appointed ahead of the 2022/23 season

Old Gs is delighted to announce Leigh Rogers as the new Club Head Coach ahead of the 2022/23 season.

Leigh has been assistant coach for a couple of seasons, and having contributed hugely to the success of the club, steps up to the role of head coach ahead of the new campaign.

Within his role, Leigh will combine the head coach duties with the director of rugby role - giving him the autonomy to develop the coaching, management and playing structures of the club across all teams and areas. In his new role he will report into the club chairman and committee.

Leigh was delighted to be leading the coaching structure at the club, and taking on his new role:

'I am really excited to taking on the Head Coach role and I can't wait to get started on the work ahead with the great people already here. We have a great foundation as shown by our last game of the season and I want to build on that with the excellent set of players we have.'

Club Chairman Mike Hodge shared his thoughts on the new appointment:

'Leigh has more than proved himself as part of the coaching structure in recent years, and following Dan Buckland stepping down, was the perfect candidate to lead the coaching set up of the club moving forward. He already has excellent knowledge of Old Gs, and I look forward to seeing how he develops and progresses the playing side of the club ahead of the new season.'

Everyone at the club wishes Leigh well ahead of the new season - with pre-season training starting in early July.
